One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer in North Dakota is exploring new places & finding hidden gems! North Dakota offers diverse landscapes that make beautiful locations for photo sessions! There’s the Badlands, flat golden fields, and even beautiful grees along the Red River Valley! When you’re picking out a location for your family or engagement photos, keep in mind the following tips!
First, make sure to pick a location that is not crowded!! If you choose a park, find a place that is off to the side where you won’t be interrupted by families, frisbees, and pets! Second, make sure you are allowed to take photos there and obtain any license needed. Some areas require special use permits, fees, and proof of insurance. You can find this information on websites or by making a few calls! My last tip is more of personal preference, but I recommend locations that are nature-based!! Elements like long grass, open fields, and weeping willow trees add in a romantic feel to the photos!!
This location (found by my beautiful model AJ) was along the side of a walking path near Lincoln Drive Park in Grand Forks, North Dakota. It checked off all the “boxes” for a great location! Even though it was by a walking path, nobody else enjoying the park was ever in the background. The long grasses & trees made these bridal photos soooo beautiful & romantic!!
Special thanks to the following wonderful vendors that helped bring this to life
