Introduction to the Couple

Sharon and Tkash had the coolest Hindu engagement party last spring! The entire day took place at the Hutton House in Medicine Lake, Minnesota. The Hutton House is this beautifully modern wedding venue that has an endless sea of white architecture. They also have a stunning courtyard out back that was perfect for some sunset photos!

The Engagement Party

The day started off with both Sharon and Tkash getting ready separately while the DJ played music downstairs. All of the music played on this day was SO good! We decided to do some indoor portraits because it was absolutely sweltering outside and it was too pretty inside to not take advantage of some of the architecture.

Then it was time for the ceremony. This was such a unique part of the day and was an amazing experience for sure. The majority of the ceremony was spoken in Hindu and was super intimate. Sharon and Tkash sat on a small love seat while their family sat barefoot on the ground next to them. They all passed around gifts, food, and drinks for everyone to share.

Now onto the reception. This absolutely blew my mind! The reception started with the grand entrance which consisted of the bride and groom walking in with ALL of their family members. There was great music, drummers, and about 150 family and friends that marched right alongside them. The family showered them with so many gifts, I truly cannot get over how amazing of an experience this was. The ceremony officially ended with Tkash getting down on one knee and officially proposing to Sharon. Afterwards, we moved straight into the choreographed dances that all the bridesmaids, moms, and grandmas put on for the bride and groom. Sharon and Tkash were centered on the dance floor on the love seat they sat on earlier while they watched all their friends dance. The couple even joined in and did a dance for their guests! Once the choreographed part was over, all the friends and family got to join in on the fun! The dance party lasted all night long and was one of the coolest receptions I have ever experienced.
