A Pike Lake Golf Club Wedding | The Gessel’s

This summer, I had the honor of capturing Mr. and Mrs. Gessel’s wedding at Pike Lake Golf Club in Duluth, MN. From start to finish, it was a relaxed day surrounded by their closest friends and family, filled with laughter, heartfelt stories, and happy tears. Everything about their day was a beautiful reflection of their love—timeless, elegant, and so full of joy.  

The Wedding Day

The ceremony was held outdoors, with the stunning backdrop of Pike Lake adding a beautiful, natural beauty to their celebration. Watching the couple say “I do” with the soft shimmer of the lake behind them was absolutely magical! Every detail felt like it belonged in a classic wedding magazine—elegant yet understated, perfectly curated without feeling overdone.  

One of my favorite details was Mrs. Gessel’s veil. It was covered with delicate pearls that caught the light just enough to add a soft sparkle. She looked absolutely stunning, and the simplicity of her look made her stand out even more. From the floral arrangements to the wedding party attire, every choice reflected a timeless aesthetic that will never go out of style!

A Relaxed Celebration

After the ceremony, the day unfolded so effortlessly. Their guests shared laughter and stories, creating such a warm and intimate atmosphere. It was clear how much love surrounded Mr. and Mrs. Gessel, not just from each other but from their entire community of friends and family.  

The reception was laid-back and full of genuine moments—clinking glasses during toasts, LOTS of dancing, and happy conversations that felt as special as the big moments. Every smile and laugh I captured was filled with pure happiness.  

Sunset on the Lake

As the day began to wind down, we snuck away to the dock for some sunset portraits. And let me tell you— it was everything. The lake was filled soft oranges and pinks from the sun, framing the couple in the most gorgeous light. It was perfect way to end their day!

Wrapping Up 

This Pike Lake Golf Club wedding was everything a wedding should be—relaxed, heartfelt, and filled with love. Their connection is so natural and joyful, and it was an honor to document their day. I’m so excited for their next chapter together, and I know the memories from this day will be cherished for a lifetime.
