Wedding at Tobacco Barn Farm

As my husband and I packed for a 14-hour road trip that would lead us to Zach + Madison’s wedding in Missouri, I remembered to bring extra umbrellas. Saturday’s forecast showed lightning storms-all day. On the drive to the venue, I remember thinking that this couple has been through enough with having to change a lot of their plans due to COVID–and they handled every change and uncertainty with grace. They didn’t deserve a thunderstorm on their wedding. They deserved beautiful weather and gorgeous sunset photos.

We pulled up to the venue and went to work, shooting details & looking for locations for photos for when the rain came. As my husband drove us to the church, I checked my weather app–to find that the storm which was supposed to start any minute, wouldn’t arrive until midnight!!

Despite having to change their date and a lot of their wedding plans, Zach + Madison got married on June 27, 2020—all was well. The ceremony was beautiful, their friends celebrated (hard, lol) with the newlyweds on a party bus, the guests arrived, the caterer provided amazzzzing tacos. They danced & shoved cake in each other’s faces–it was such a beautiful evening, and everyone was laughing and having fun. THIS was the wedding and celebration that they deserved.

Later that evening, the clouds parted which revealed a beautiful sunset—so I was able to pull Mr. and Mrs. Baker aside for a few last-minute photos!! It was gorgeous! After a few minutes of golden hour, I asked Zach + Madison what their favorite part of the day was. Without hesitation, Madison said “THIS!” Throughout all the amazing moments of the day–riding on the back ledge of the party bus, being surrounded by friends/family, having GOATS at the venue, the weather clearing up, and getting to wear the most beautiful gown–Madison’s favorite moment was stepping away from everything to slow down and have a few moments with her husband.

Zach + Madison, I am so honored that you choose me to capture your day–thank you so much!! As you look back on these photos throughout your marriage, I hope you are reminded of the joy and love that you felt on this day.
